Frequently Asked Questions
We’re unable to fix whitening on cards. Whitening is typically caused by chipped paint or factory damage during the cutting process.
Any attempt to recolour or alter whitening would be considered card alteration by grading companies, which is why this is not a service we offer.
Our services are carefully designed to be safe for grading. While we handle every card with the utmost care, all repair processes carry a small risk, including potential changes in condition or value.
For individual cards, please reach out to us through the Contact tab or on our social media channels. We’re here to help and happy to advise you on the service that best meets your needs. For multiple cards, we’d suggest you purchase our consultation service where we can set aside some time to assess your cards and what potential restorative measures can be taken.
Slab cracking is an irreversible process and carries an inherent risk of accidental card damage. Although we take every precaution, slabs can fracture unpredictably, potentially causing plastic fragments, card movement, scratches, dents or edge/corner damage.
ACE Grading slabs: Through our own experience, we have observed an increased risk when cracking certain ACE slabs due to micro-cracking and increased fragility of the outer slab, which can result in less predictable fragmentation during removal.
By requesting slab cracking, you acknowledge these risks and understand that the original slab will be permanently destroyed.
If an item is submitted under an incorrect service tier and is later assessed to fall within a higher pricing category, the order will be subject to an additional charge. This upcharge must be settled before the item is returned to the customer.
No, we use a secure PO Box for two important reasons:
- To safeguard our FUNKY HQ address.
- To ensure the safety and security of your cards while they are with us.
At the moment, our delivery is available exclusively in the UK.
We treat every card with the utmost care and professionalism. However, trading card restoration is a delicate process that carries inherent risks. Before placing an order, all customers are required to accept our disclaimer, which outlines that not all damage can be safely repaired and that, in rare cases, the restoration process may result in further deterioration.
By proceeding with our services, you acknowledge and accept these risks. While we always strive for the best possible outcome, we cannot guarantee specific results or be held liable for changes that occur as part of the restoration process.
Shipping Your Cards
Our secure PO Box address will be provided in your order confirmation email. This additional layer of security helps protect the sensitive details associated with our restoration services.
Once your order arrives at our PO Box, it is securely stored and consolidated with other customer deliveries before being transferred to Funky Tiger Cards every Thursday. Orders typically arrive with us on Friday, at which point we’ll notify you that your cards have been safely received.
To avoid any delays, it is essential that you follow the postage instructions in your confirmation email exactly. Please double-check that you have used the correct address and included your order number both on the outside of your package and on a note inside the parcel. This helps us identify your order quickly and ensures your cards can be processed without unnecessary delays.
